Board Elections Upcoming!
If you were a part of Leander Youth Soccer during the 2019-20 season and are interested in serving on the board, please email firstname.lastname@example.org on or before May 11. Please suggest an office you might be interested in, or feel free to say that you would serve wherever needed.

Board positions include:
Article I—Duties of Office
The president if the general representative of the Association, S/he shall supervise all activities of the association and the work of the officers. The president will co-sign all checks for expenditures. (The president is prohibited from serving as a coach or an assistant coach for the length of his/her tenure.)
The Vice-President, Recreational will coordinate all seasonal play for the recreational program, including the draft, schedules and evaluations. S/he will act as president in the president’s absence. The Recreational Commissioners shall report to the Vice-President, Recreational. S/he will coordinate coaches’ clinics to assure training for recreational coaches. In addition, s/he will ensure the distribution of coaching materials to all recreational coaches. The Vice President, Recreational shall coordinate with the Vice-President, Select.
C. Vice President, Select
The Vice President, Select will coordinate the Select Committee, including the evaluation and the player selection process. The Director of Coaching will report to the Vice President, Select. In addition, s/he will be responsible for any additional player training. The Vice President, Recreational shall coordinate with the Vice President, Select.
D. Field and Facilities Scheduler
The Field Scheduler shall coordinate with the City of Leander, Leander ISD, and Williamson County before each season to secure appropriate space for games and practices for the upcoming season. The Field Scheduler will also create the game schedule for all recreational (Division III/IV) games and communicate with the field schedulers for Williamson County and CAYSA as needed for inter-league play. S/he may appoint or coordinate volunteers as necessary to help prepare the fields.
The registrar shall supervise and assist in all matters pertaining to the registration of players in all divisions/he shall have the authority to require any team to supply the necessary information in the format needed in order for him/her to properly perform his/her duties. The Registrar shall be responsible for insuring that all players are registered in the correct age division. The registrar shall certify all team rosters and will attend meetings as required by CAYSA or STYSA.
The Secretary shall attend to all correspondence, shall record the minutes of all General and Board Meetings, and shall be custodians of all correspondence initiated by the League or Board of Directors. The Secretary shall give notice of all meetings. The secretary may also coordinate advertising for registration in the absence of a publicity director.G. Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be responsible for all monies of the association, which shall be deposited in a chartered bank or credit union in the name of the association. All checks shall be signed by the Treasurer and the President. Any non-budgeted expenditures of more than $200 must first be authorized by the board of directors. The Treasurer will be responsible for preparing an annual budget for approval by the Board at the Spring meeting.
H. Publicity Director
The Publicity Director will be responsible for advertising registration and tryouts in a manner approved by the board. The Publicity Director will also be responsible for all communication with the community.
I. Discipline and Protest Officer
The Discipline and Protest Officer shall be the president of the Discipline and Protest Committee, S/he shall assure that the discipline and protest procedures are followed. In the event of a conflict of interest, the Discipline and Protest Officer will relinquish chair to an appropriate board members and refrain from participating.
J. Coaching Commissioner/Age Group Coordinators
Coaching Commissioners and Age Group Coordinators shall be appointed by the Board as needed to deal with issues and training needs specific to the U-6, U-8, U-10 and Division III teams as needed. These individuals will work to secure coaches for teams formed in their age groups and divisions, and will serve as liaisons between the Board and the coaches. The Commissioners may call coaches’ meetings as needed and will serve as chair of said meetings. They shall also communicate with the registrar and field scheduler to ensure the proper division and acquisition of resources and facilities. Commissioners and Coordinators will report to the appropriate Vice President.
The referee coordinator will schedule appropriately trained referees for all games played at the official home fields of Leander Youth Soccer.

Director Of Coaching—supervises any training or tryouts, helps to develop a playing and coaching philosophy to be adopted by the club
*Community Liaison—coordinates communication between community agencies and the league, including and not limited to the City of Leander Parks and Rec Department, Leander ISD, Leander Chamber of Commerce and other city departments and businesses
